Compliance Audits
Companies all over the United Kingdom are legally bound to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. A compliance audit can help to ensure that your company complies with these laws.
A compliance audit can:
- Identify and quantify all areas of weakness and provide practical recommendations for minimum compliance and good working practices.
- Prepare a detailed action plan to ensure minimum compliance within practical time constraints
- Give you peace of mind that your company is operating within government legislation.
We can help to assist with the development, maintenance and implementation of safety management systems that will meet your company’s needs.

Facilities Management and Permit to Work systems remain a common problem and cause of confusion. Read more about the issues relating to Permit to Work Systems
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005 (FSO), a responsible person must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan.
Fire risk assessments are generally split into five operations:
- Indentify fire hazards
- Identify people at risk
- Evaluate, remove or reduce, and protect from risk
- Record, plan, inform, instruct and train
- Review the fire risk assessment regularly
If in doubt as to how to go about the process or about the validity of the existing fire risk assessment, then consult with a competent person, such as a Health and Safety Consultant. We will ensure that the consultant is experienced in dealing with environments such as yours.

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 aims to end the discrimination that many disabled people face. This Act has been significantly extended, including by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
The DDA requires employers to:
- treat disabled persons equally with non-disabled persons in all employment matters
- make any reasonable changes to the premises, work layout, hours of work, etc that may be necessary to accommodate the needs of disabled employees.
This may be achieved by undertaking a DDA Access Audit. Ideally, any disabled employees should be consulted as part of the process as it is likely that they will have some important points to pass on.
LRB Consulting can assist you with your DDA Access Audit and in determining an action plan for any reasonable adjustments that may be required.
