When we think of training, we often think of classrooms and formal courses. But training can be as simple as providing adequate instructions and information. It all depends on the demands of the business. Training is all about helping people learn how to do something safely, and telling people what they should or shouldn’t do. Who needs training? Employers are required to provide all employees with whatever information, instruction, training and supervision is necessary to ensure health and safety at work. The HSE have devised a five-step approach to training: 1) Decide what training your organisation needs 2) Decide your training priorities 3) Choose your training methods and resources 4) Deliver the training 5) Check that the training has worked.
